How to Be Invisible

In an exhibition of photographs Hide in the City, Chinese artist Liu Bolin had numerous assistants paint him so he becomes invisible. The choice of backgrounds and the seamless integration of the artist into them areimpressive. Although Liu has developed this project in different places and for different exhibitions over the years, the initial idea arose after the Chinese government destroyed the Beijing artist village Suo Jia Cun in 2005;Liu's art silently protested the destruction, calling attention to the lack of protection artists have in Chinese society. Check out the rest of the work here.
