A Tatu-Bola in the Global Spotlight

The 2014 World Cup mascot has been announced. It is an endangered Brazilian armadillo known as "Tatu-Bola." A committee has until November to decide on his name, from three choices: Amijubi, Fuleco and Zuzeco. The armadillo was chosen because it rolls up into the shape of a ball to defend itself; also, the animal is in the verge of extinction, which FIFA and other entities see as an opportunity to support ecology education and preservation projects.
