新年好!

Happy New Year! or should I say 新年好! Either way, today is the beginning of a new year in the Chinese calendar. This holiday is also known as the Lunar New Year. It's a special day packed with myths and traditions that originated centuries ago in China, which have spread to its geographical neighbors. Each year, an animal becomes the symbol of the year; this time is the year of the snake. In São Paulo, Chinese New Year was celebrated last week, due to the Carnaval holiday. Celebrations and festivities took over Liberdade and other famous places in town. Check out some pictures below, and have a Happy New Year!
