The Dream Home for Every Librarian

Eun Young Yi, a respected Korean architect, designed the revolutionary Stuttgart City Library, which cost 80 million euros and opened in October last year. It's a monolithic cube with two floors underground and nine above ground, including a five-story atrium with inner stairways. A cool exterior detail is that the word "library" is written in four different languages on the outside walls: on the the north wall in German, the west in English (lingua franca), the south in Arabic (the language of ancient knowledge and of Stuttgart's sister city, Cairo), and the east in Korean.
