Diplomatic Showdown: Part 2

A couple of weeks ago, a group of 18 Graded students participated at the Harvard Association Cultivating Inter-American Democracy conference in the amazing Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Not only did HACIA students have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of their jacuzzis and all-inclusive food and room service at the Hard Rock Hotel, but they also got to visit a public school and a tobacco and cocoa plantation. The conference contained three days of provocative debates that focused on different topics, ranging from coca production to microfinance. Freshman Michael Borger reported that he loved HACIA "because it was probably the only opportunity I had to debate gang violence in the Northern Triangle while also sipping on virgin pina coladas!" The Graded delegation returned home not only with multiple awards for student performances, but also with the overall outstanding delegation award to celebrate their great teamwork.
